Carbon capture with minerals

Many minerals can be used to capture carbon (CO2).

Capturing carbon by active magnesia, MgO: molecular weight of MgO is 40.1 g/mol, CO2 is 44, so 1 mol of MgO can absorb 1 mol of CO2, or 40.1 g MgO can absorb 44g CO2 by weight (1.1 times of MgO weight).

However, if capturing CO2 by active lime, CaO, the weight ratio becomes 56:44 (or 1.27 times of CaO weight). Efficiency is different.
